The headquarters of the PTA Food Lab & Nutritional Services LTD are located in the 3rd industrial area of St. Sylas in Limassol, consisting of a modern complex build in 1000 m2 area of 3000 m2.
Is a licensed building designed specifically for laboratory use, following all the required specifications and includes besides the individual laboratories and administrative offices, a conference and seminar room where company events take place, special spaces for storage of samples in controlled environmental conditions, special places for record keeping, security systems, fire and gas leakage systems, and many other design innovations. All our laboratories are air conditioned with independent VRVs systems, ventilation systems and air filtering High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance Filters (HEPA).
The Chemical Laboratory is designed with standards that promote the functionality of the analysis under specific conditions and the safety of the analysts. It includes receipt and storage of sample areas, receipt and storage areas of various materials (chemical reagents, glassware, laboratory supplies chemical etc.), special areas for the preparation of reagents and samples and analyzing areas with special instruments. The chemical laboratory is equipped with ultraviolet spectrometer, atomic absorption flame spectrometers and graphite furnace, device for determining protein Kjeldahl nitrogen, fat determination using Soxhlet apparatus etc.
The Microbiology Laboratory is designed with standards that promote the hygiene of the samples and the safety of the analysts. It includes receipt and storage of sample areas, receipt and storage areas of various materials (substrates, reagents, consumables, etc.), special areas for the preparation of microbiological media, samples, incubation of the samples and areas for the destruction of microbial waste. The laboratory is equipped with laminar flow cabinets Class II, autoclaves, centrifuges, water baths, incubators, colony counters, microscopes, samples homogenizers / Stomachers, membrane filtration devices, etc.
The flow of the samples made with a prescribed manner, as described in our quality control procedures in order to avoid any contamination during handling and confusion between the samples, but also to keep the necessary confidentiality and traceability of the samples.
